The emergence of coordinate measuring machines is a major revolution in the measurement industry, which has a profound impact on the development of the measurement industry. This paper introduced the development history, composition, and measurement principles of CMM, with a focus on analyzing the fitting algorithms of three coordinates in actual measurement. Using circles as an example for measurement, determined the selection of the fitting algorithm for CMM in engineering measurement.
